Monday, November 23rd, 2009I’m coding away on the ZeroFps engine and right now there are two major areas we are focusing on changing, the entity model of how we create the objects in the game and the editor. I’m haxxoring on the editor and the goal is to make it more easy to use and also add some custom editors to it like one for particle systems. Right now it feels like we are walking backwards as all you can do in the engine is to create small blue boxes and move them around but soon I hope we will moving forward again. Next step, spheres

Saturday, June 27th, 2009To much code to write and to little time so no time to blog. But some quick observations.
- Armed Assault 2 looks as unstable as any other Bohemia game but it might still be fun, next weekend I will know.
- I hate mathematics.
- Americas Army 3 manage to be even more unstable then ArmaII but less fun.
- Php is not the language of the devil and soon I will have a new and better review section on this blog.
- Mathematics is the language of the devil.
- I make some progress on the zerofps animation system, time to update to a real state machine now.
- Did I mentioned that I hate mathematics?

. Not that it matter as its not my artistic visions that are the primary goal of this art session but rather a improved exporter for zerofps. I make a number of basic models and then I try to export them and see what problems I stumble on. As you can see from my first number of test models there is some problem in the exporter as they all display the error material for the engine. I will fix that bug first and then make some new models and try again. Then it’s all repeat until done or pass our of lack of sleep.

Sunday, April 5th, 2009Done with the update of the resource system and now i think i will spend some time making some content and try to use it a bit and see if it works as planned. The sad thing about that plan is as all the art people on our team are focusing on some competition they joined so all art will be made by me, programmer art strikes again. Might be good that i get a chance to try things first and work out the most basic problems

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009Spending time on the resource system in ZeroFps that handles all things such as textures, models and other things that the engine use to run. We have two ways that we load resources and one of them is that we keep all resources of the same type in the same directory and the other is that we keep the all resources that belong together in the same directory, for example a model and all it’s materials and textures. The second way needs to improve a bit code wise so my new exporters tools for maya can work as good as possible. Hope I don’t break anything

. Today I managed some coding and I’m focusing on maya programming right now to get some tools for the art people on Alcestis. First version of a new exporter is done and now I hope they try it out so I know what parts of it needs improvement. Well of to bed again
