Working on ZeroFps today. Fixed LuaW so we can export C++ classes with inheritance so now we can export our graphical user interface elements is a little more simple. I also did some mockup levels to try new functions in the engine and then I made a movie of it all so you can see where we are right now. Please ignore the huge amount of programmers art

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009The first stone
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009We now have a first real Milestone for Alcestis. With our great sense for names and style we call it Milestone 1 and it will be done when it’s done. That timetable is not based on some need to do some form of statement about how cool we are but rather it mirrors our complete lack of knowledge of planning and time estimation. We hope it will improve when we get more experience
The goal of Milestone 1 is to add some game play elements and expand the engine and to try some ideas we have. It will be a small game of itself that you can play even if it has no connection with the final game story.

Updated the Zero Point Gameplay website today. Removed the old content management shit we where trying to use and now we simply use a Wiki without any extra crap. Makes it a bit more easy to update. Next step for it is to add some basic history of the engine, current and old project and some media in the form of movies and images.
Map Maker
Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008I’m now focusing on the map system of Alcestis that shows a map of the game world where the player can travel. Might seem like the wrong way to start a 3d role playing game but the map will be the main element that keep track of all the areas the player can and have visited and it will also have its part in tracking progress and quests.
The first step now is to get a basic overview map of the land done so I can work from there. It will change a lot for sure as the development progress but a good start is better then none at all
. For starters it will all be done with the help of a pen and paper and a scanner. See if I can get some examples up in a few days.
Alcestis
Thursday, June 12th, 2008Is the project name of the game we are coding on and when it is done it will be a epic fantasy role playing game. I had to use the word epic there as I think there is some form of law that say that if you use the word fantasy and role playing you also need to use the word epic. Even if you make a game about a stupid farm boy that kill spiders in caves you need to call it epic or else the spirit of Gary Gygax will haunt you
. In our game… our Epic game, we will use ideas from games we like and mix it with our own mad ideas on what makes a great game play experience. One of the primary cornerstones in the game will be the ability to play the game with others in co-op mode. You will still play the same story as in single player but the focus of the story will be on the group rather then a single character.
