Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010Coding at work, coding at home and also coding on the train. My on the rails coding is right now focused on getting the ZeroFps engine running on my macbook. Harder then one might think as i have no clue how the mac works but I’m slowly getting there, one source file at the time. Today i got parts of the engine running for the first time and it told me that nothing was as it should be and then shut down again
. Some more fighting with the settings in CMake and XCode is what i need.
ZeroFps Week : 3
Thursday, December 31st, 2009We now got the basic techdemo projects up and running, they are called Zario ( for python) and Zua for Lua. Just the basic loading a level and not crashing so far but it will form the basis for future development so a step forward anyway
. Next for me is some work on the Lua script interface, more work on making something playable of Zua and then a lot of work on the editor.
Ohh and I need to play Borderlands a little to =).
ZeroFps Week 2
Tuesday, December 29th, 2009What should have been a easy fix to solve a minor bug in the way the engine handles parameters turned into a much longer quest that ended with me recompiling a lot of the libraries we are using. Another proof it is good to keep all the sources of the libraries in subversion so you do not have to look for them all over the Internet
. I also spend some time fighting cmake today. It is a great build system that makes it easy to keep many platforms updated at the same time but like all tools that play in the same hood as anything unix you don’t run far across the field before you get shot down by a configuration file from hell.
Anyway, now all the configurations of the engine seems to work at least so time to start to code on something more fun then bug fixes
.
