Playing Privateer and Spec Ops

For the moment I play Privateer and Spec Ops. Privateer only runs in DOS mode and my mouse driver used 37 Kb memory so it took some time to get some free memory for the game. Why is someone so stupid that they make a mouse driver that uses 37 Kb .
