First person shooter and space game mixed into one. You do mission and travel between them by flying your spaceship and fighting your way to the mission areas. Both have been done better in other game and this mix makes them both seem like only half done
The game takes place in the 30 s and you play as a poor taxi driver that get pull in to the workings of the mob and you start as a driver and work your way up in the crime world as the years go by. Great story and and game world and when you are done playing you will walk around with that 30 s music in your head for weeks. Tommy is the name of the character you play in the game and that if something is a hint about his destiny as a mob member.
Use your magnet gun to manipulate your surroundings and try to escape. A game that try to compete with Portal both in gameplay, tone and setting. Portal comes out on top here without much of a challenge
Point-and-click adventure game where you try to stop the power mad Purple Tentacle from taking over the world. Fun game play where you flush things between the characters at different time lines to solve puzzles and also fun story where there are many jokes on different topics. Watch the intro and flushing things will make sense to you to :).
Nice turn based strategy game were you play a power mad wizard that try to take over the worlds of Arcanus and Myrror. You start out with a small town and then you have to take over territory and magical power nodes so you can research more powerful spells. The game ends when you banish all your opponents or cast the final spell of magic mastery.
Matrix style until you almost throw up. Fun story that are told in a cool cartoon graphical style. You have bullet time in the game and when you use it you slow the game world down but you can still aim your guns as you wish and that way take out a lot of enemies more easy. There is a limit on how much bullet time you can have and you get more by killing enemies so it is wise to save it for the real huge encounters.
More third-person bullet time and there is also cover system now. Not that it adds much to the game as I think Max Payne is a character that should be in the air more then behind cover. I also miss the comic panels from the past games, now there is cut scenes that interrupt the game all the time to deliver more cynical dialogue. Really gets tiresome fast.
Heavy action in the Battle Tech universe. Walk around with battlemechs with big guns and complete the missions in two diffrent campaings, one for the Wolf Clan and one for the Jade Falcon Clan. There are 15 different battlemechs and you can customize them all with your own weapons of choice.
The Medal of Honor series of games has always been a linear game-play experience but the developers of this game thought it was not enough. It might look like a mountain or town but everything is a corridor now. The problem with that is that you can walk two ways in a corridor so they added ledges everywhere to stop you from going back. A normal weak developer might have stopped there but the people that make MoH series are not made of the same material as normal people. They realized that the player still had the choice of standing still and son, you do not get a Medal of Honor by standing still. So to make you into a hero that moves you always have a buddy with you. One that spends every moment telling you what to do next while also spewing out bad military jargon. Yes, he do it all the time. No it never stops. Never. Stop for 5 seconds and he will nag you to move forward the only possible way. No, he can not die. The only upside is that the game is only four hours long and one of them die in the end.
They keep killing of side characters to try to get an emotional response from the player. Not that it works but give it 6 more games and it will be possible to play the game without the annoying team members.
This game is made up of two parts, the sneaky action and the cutscenes. I really like the sneaky action as it have a good mix of options on what to do and it is fun to fight both humans and mechs. It also cool how most of the fights take place in areas where not everyone is trying to kill you. I hate the bossfights but I always hate bossfights. Always. The story is over the top and so are the characters but it's a over the top game after all.
The cutscenes then, there really need to be a separate section here as they are as long as the gameplay. Around of nine and a half hour of cutscenes. Sometimes you can use some keys to change the the view and see something extra but most of the time you can put away the controller. All the cutscenes are well made and I had no problem following the story even if it was my first game in the series. The problem I have with the cutscenes is that there is not enough content in them. All the cutscens drag on forever without adding anything. It just gets tiresome when it is easy to predict what will happen next and then suffer ten more minutes of nothing. I do not need to see snake check is gun another time or listen to another repeat exercise in exposition. If you play this game and feel bored it's the Skip Cutscene feature in the menu that is calling on you.
First-person shooter video game based on the Metro 2033 novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The basic concept follows the book and you play Artyom that try to reach Polis. There are more action in the game, more visits to the surface and many of the people from the book you meet in in other places. Really good environments in the game and both the tunnels and the stations look great. Your flashlight always work but you can use a dynamo to charge it to be brighter for a while so it is a good mix of fear of the dark and still able to play. Besides to flashlight you can also power up your pneumatic weapons to make more damage. You can use the normal guns but bullets are also used as currency so it is worth to save on the cash by using the air guns.
The thing i had most problems with in the game is the fact that you spend many parts of the game with other characters following you. There are some great characters in the game but there are some scenes in the game that would be wonderful survival horror experiences that get destroyed by a character talking about it as it happens. The level Ghosts would be epic if not for Khan following you talking about everything like a bad exercise in exposition.
Spend some more time in the Moscow metro in this sequel to Metro 2033. They have improved the game in almost every way. It's great to explore the environments both above and below ground. The only part that has failed to improve are the exposition spewing characters. Every part where there are another character leading you, and there are far to many, they keep on talking non stop about everything you see. Shut up and let me see the world for myself.
Action game in which the player controls Samus Aran, a bounty hunter that attack the space pirates base to destroy the Mother Brain that control the base. You need to explore the world and get power ups that makes it possible to access other areas of the map, like the morph ball to roll around or high jump boots to reach higher.
Can someone please put a end to this pointless boss battles in games. Shooting three times towards a glowing point gets really old fast :(. Other then the boss hell this game is nice with exploring and rolling around in ball form.
Second part in the Metroid Prime series and now on a world split into a light and dark side where you use your light and dark beam to activate portals and travel between them. Still the same long boss battles but exploring is fun and so is the ball form.
Gather eight Octoliths to find the way to the Ultimate Power. Like all Metroid games you do that by exploring, getting powerups and fighting boss battles but this game also have other bounty hunters that fight you and try to steal the octoliths you have found. The major flaw in this game is the boss battles that are all similar and the control system that makes it painfull in the hands to play a bossfight without taking a pause from playing. The game took 7.48 hours to complete and i landed on the really small number of 62% complete.
Side scrolling shoot'em up with levels and in each level a end boos that need to die. You can shop for new weapons as you progress in the game and for currency you use keys that you take from the people you kill. Possible to play the game with two players and as always it's more fun that way :)
You control a colony on the moon and your goal is to explore the solar system and collect enough resources to re inhabit earth. Not that hard until you find out there is another colony that think that they are the ones that should inherit earth.
Very fun hack'n slash game that supports up to four players. You play on of four knights that have been chosen to search for the moonstone. You travel the world map and visit lairs and search for the four keys to the valley of the gods. The knight who have these can enter the valley of the gods and get a moonstone that can be used at Stonehenge to receive the blessing of ultimate power. There are also a dragon flying around that like to eat knights and it's best to avoid him at the start if the game.
One of the worst things in the game is the AI (and that was the games top selling point). There is almost impossible to climb the ladders in the game and the AI also always fails. I solved it be giving someone orders to climb the ladder and then when they started trying I shoot them. Each bullet pushes them a small amount up and it takes somewhere around 200 shoots from a M60 to get them to the top
Note about Movies:
None of the Youtube movies that i link to are made by me and i include them only to give you a chance to see what the game
looks like. Only the text and the smiley score act as my review of the game .
